Chevy couldn't sell any, so they had to buy the 'truck of the year' award
I'm surprised they outbid Lincoln for the Blackwood - MotorTrend is making money hand over fist with these '.... of the year' awards!

Have you seen the Jack in the Box ad ...
that makes fun of all those macho truck ad conventions, like rain and mud and spinning wheels and dropping heavy loads onto the truck from a crane? It's pretty hilarious.
Oh, and does it really matter who bought the award this year? American cars (and trucks) are sold by price, I'm sure most buyers these days are shopping by incentives.

I see a lot of them here in NorCal...I bet San Antonio has a million of 'em...
trucks everywhere down there...they are actually pretty popular...although incredibly ugly and cheap looking.

hideous yes, but very functional
I want one for the ability to haul a load of plywood or sheetrock, a boat, or 4 people on a camping/Tahoe trip.
I would never consider one as a daily driver though.
