0-60 - Was Audi sandbagging?
I just got a G-Tech for Xmas - great gadget!!! if you want more info they have a website @ gtechpro.com.
Anyway, I did a 0-60 in our 2000 A6 4.2 - I did two @ 6.45 sec - the Audi spec is 4.7 sec! And I wasn't even optimized - full tank of gas and a LOT of crap in the trunk.
I'm willing to bet with all the excess weight removed and 1/4 tank of fuel it would do a 6.3. Not bad, eh?
What is the best reported 0-60 time for this car?
(On the other hand, my M5 and my Porsche stop from 60 in 113 feet - the Audi took 125. )

best 0-60 time...
...of a stock 4.2 should be just under 4 seconds... that's if you drive it off the cliff and let gravity do it's thing. Other than that, I'd be inclined to trust Audi with their 6.7 sec time, especially since they're listing the 2.7T with 6.6 seconds, and that can't be good for 4.2 sales.
Do a search on the forum, I remember reading someone's posted times for quarter-mile and 0-60 on a track.

Its a mathematical function
If you know the acceleration rate, (which it measures with an accelerometer) and the time, you can solve the equation for distance, which is what the chip inside the g-tech does. What amazes me is not how it does it but that it can do it as accurately and repeatably as it does.
