'01 2.7T Alternator is toast per dealer/Any others with same problem?
Now have 16K miles on my '01 2.7 T. Noticed the battery LED lit on dash yesterday with voltmeter at 8-10 volts. Brought the car in and was told they'd never seen a vehicle as new with a defective alternator. Had to leave it awaiting overnighting of new one. Anyone else with similar experience?

Had a '69 E-type jag get hit by lightning. Fried the alternator.
Of course, with that car the alternator
would fry itself sitting in the garage
until I found a GM part that was a direct
replacement.
