Default 02 2.7T w/ 17" sport wheels. How to remove the hub cap without the tool?

I received no hub cap removal tool in my jack set with the car. How do you remove the cap? Do you pry it, twist it, etc. I got the logo cap off as well as the 12 pointed cover but I am confused as to how the big cap that covers the lug nuts is removed with no/minimal damage. Anybody have any pics as to what this thing looks like?

Default W/o the tool? Try a rubber jar opener or a strap wrench...

then get on Ebay and find a BBS RC wrench. They run about $20-25 and worth every $.01.

Default You are the man! Thanks, I am going to try now. It looked like a twister when I first looked at it.

Where did you get the "boy in a hole"? That is a good wheel shot.

Default I pop my logo cap off wit a small screwdriver, then tap on the inside..

..retainers to loosen. The plastic wrench that comes in the trunk is useless and I haven't gotten around to buying a BBS one yet. This works handy and won't cause any cosmetic damage.
