Default Right you are. $60 K it is. I agree.

I just hope that the six speed DSG for the 3.2 is correct. I hope to god that Audi also offers the six speed DSG for the 4.2 and a seven speed DSG for the new S6.

Default Maybe for the 3.2, but not the 4.2. I just looked at...

an '04 4.2 and it had an MSRP of $57k, loaded. It is well documented on this board that the '05 will be significantly (IMHO) more expensive than the comparable '04.

Default The longitudinal DSG will definitely need to have a 600 lb/ft torque capacity

This way, the longitudinal DSG can be offered for all engines (including 5.2L FSI V10 in new S6 and 4L TDI V8 in base and S Line A6s if this engine become available for the A6 lineup).

Default Ok.... Ok... but it is a 2005 4.2L A6 !!! $54,300 (cont'd)

The car was $50.5 base price. It did not have adaptive cruise, voice recog. or rear parktronic.

It was $54,300 without the above features.

I stand corrected.

Thanks for all of the diverse input and intelligence. You guys are the experts, not I... I will indeed be more observant the next time I report on anything of "grave concern"... Audiwise.
