17" Wheels for A6 Avant
I'm still looking at this A6 Avant and I think I'm going to take the plunge. It has the standard 16" wheels already in place. I would like to install the 5 spoke 17" wheels from the A6 4.2. I just called the parts dept at the dealer and was told that the wheels retail for $1003 each plus $40.60 for each center cap. The parts guy offered me a 15% discount which brings the wheels to $852 each and the center caps to $34.51 for a grand totale of $3408. Does this sound about right? Anyone know of any better deals? I wasn't expecting the wheels to be this much. I was thinking around $500-$600 per wheel.

Re: 17" Wheels for A6 Avant
It's unbelievable that audi charges such inflated prices for their wheels. A major slap in the face to their most avid fans. Another example is the new 17" bbs for the 2.7 sport. They give the wheels away in this package but charge $500 per wheel if you wnat them later. They have missed the boat with regard to wheels from the begining.
They force you to go aftermarket and throw away rev. and profits.
You might want to look at the group buy. Look for the link below or go to www.urs4.com. I think you will like both of those choices. Audi OEM 17" Avus and 17-18" RS4.

Audi also charges a fortune for the wheel bolts.
These are often needed with a wheel change. Places like Ronal throw them in with the wheels. I just upgraded mine through Ronal - $173 each for *ANY* of their 17" 1-piece wheels this month. You can get 4 wheels, 4 premium tires, shipping, and SmarTire for less than 2 bare Audi wheels. I am very happy with the set I got through Gary at Ronal - much nicer than any of the Audi wheels.

I checked into the same wheels and was told--->
$865 per wheel. I can understand they should be a little more since they are forged, but that is outrageous. As others have mentioned there is a group buy going on now. Ronal has a sale until the end of the month and there are allot of great aftermarket wheels out there. If you like the beefy look of the 4.2 sport wheels you may want to look at the Oettinger REs. Not quite as beefy, but the same look. Supreme sells them for $300 each.

http://www.supremepowerparts.com/</a

I understand that the Audi wheels a VERY heavy also.
Not the best thing for ride and handling. If you must have something that is Audi approved you could get the BBS RC that is used on the enhanced sport pack on the 2.7t. Audi sells them both with and without tires in their accesory catalog for something like $300-400 each and they come with Audi center caps. Much lighter and much cheaper than the wheels you are looking at plus BBS is usually considered to be one of the best quality wheels available.
