Default 2000 a6 quatro ac/heater blower works intermittently

My blower works intermittently but right now it won't respond.. I've tested it by giving it 12v and its fine. Ive checked the fuse and its good. Is there a relay/switch somewhere that I can look for to see if its bad. I bought the car second hand and I was told that if he hits a bump, the blower would turn on/off intermittently. I don't have the solar sunroof model either.. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance..

The blower is powered by a variac controller module J126 that ramps the motor speed up and down by a signal from the climate control module, bad connetion, bad J126 module or climate head module.

Vagcom can do these output tests, any codes?

There won't be any codes, and the problem will happen intermittently. Fan speed indicator on the climate control will show that power is being send to the fan, and testing will shop that the fan is getting juice.

Bad fan motor.

I read that the OP tested the motor with 12volts, I assume that the 12volts was from a different source, so if he already tested the motor with 12volts and it runs what gives?

This is an intermittent issue. Worked when tested means nothing.

Ah ha, the old worn-out brushes on the commutator problem.

Or is it a shaded pole "ecm" motor, defiantly not a psc or csir ac phase motor.

I"m having a similar problem, but the only code I'm getting is intermittent V2 (blower motor). Replaced blower motor and blower motor resistor; now I hardly ever get any airflow. Had a friend repair the solder joints on the Solar Fan Relay but that didn't fix it. We replaced a couple of the motors for the flaps (on the passenger side) and can hear the flaps moving if I change the temperature setting.
