2000 A6 Reapir costs before 76K mi
I just bought 2000 A6 turbo. For 2000 A6 owners (especially the 2.7 turbo) what repairs/costs did you encounter before hitting 76,000 miles or so. Thanks much for the info.

Timing belt/water pump should be replaced
The steering rack may go... an easy grand there to replace
Ball joints and tie rods may start to go somewhere between 50 and 100k, especially if you drive hard and have the car lowered... those are a couple hundred a pop to replace (8 ball joint and 2 tie rods total) if you don't know how to do it yourself.
Clutch fan (the belt driven one) may start to make noise then vibrate when you near the 100k mark. Not sure on the cost but I think it is $150 or so in parts, not sure if you have to remove the core support to get at it but I think so, so a few hundred in labor too.
Heater motors can go out too, not sure what the cost is on those, most have gone under warranty I think.
All of my wheel bearings are doing fine so far.
99 2.8Q with 92k on odometer, purchased at 6x,xxx miles (can't remember) I've done the water pump/timing belt, had the steering rack replaced, one of my upper ball joints needs done. Thats really about all it has needed. I've been on KW coilovers for about 20k now.
