Default 2003 A6 navigation issues

I just got this car less then a month ago:

- 2 buttons on nav. control unit are sticky;
Did somebody attempt to repair/replace just buttons?

- ****/button is loose and doesn't rotate the axle it's attached to;
Was ariginally button and axle one piece or I can replace just button to get grip on axle?

Most likely I will need to replace whole contol unit - did somebody do it already and has a writeup?

Thanks in advance!

Default Re: 2003 A6 navigation issues

The most current maps available for a C nav appears to be 2003 for around $240 with no further updates. Aftermarket GPS units for a couple of hundred more offer a screen map, faster cpu, better more current maps and can be easy transferred to another vehicle. Why buy old technology? An E Nav can be fitted but I would expect to cost at least a grand.

Default Dealer quoted me $107 to replace nav. switch.

I am not using it anyway, but sometimes may be usefull. So no reason to go aftermarket unit for now...
