At 98K miles and counting. I love my A6...
Apart from a couple of $$$ bumps in the 50kmile-60Kmile range that were covered under extended warranty this car has been bullet proof.
Great car, looking sharp, fast, safe and reliable. I can't see replacing it anytime soon.

What exactly went wrong
Have one with 57,000, no extended warranty and so far nothing has happened. Auxilary cooling pump failed just before the factory warranty was up.
