Default Lost of possibilities...

Turbos.. can blow at 16K..40K anytime depending on stress, age, care.
Was the timing belt and water pump done?

How much is the car? How much do you have in reserve for repairs.

Default The more items you add to a motor the more chances for something breaking. The turbo's

are no exception and can be a problem (especially that year). But, there are many posters with many miles on their 00 and they haven't had problems.
If you are really concerned with reliabity I would stear you towards a naturally aspirated motor like your current 2.8 or the 4.2.

well thanks for your help .I currently just sold my old car wich was a 200 20v turbo and the drive train was unbelievable on that car.I am just pondering whether to get this one @ $13,500 or maybe geta 95-97 s6 roughly same type of cash, but the older ones reliabilty is may be better?

Default Good Deal!!

If you can get this car for $13500 you are in great shape.
NADA is giving this car 16-20k+ retail value even with average condition and 92k+ miles.

CHeck car fax and then call AoA with the VIN they won't tell you specifics, but they will tell you if there was anything serious.

13500+ new turbos.. (if needed) is still below market value.

GO for it.

Default 13K seems like a good deal. Get someone to run the the service sheets and see if there has

been any major problems. If everything looks great, stash some $ just in case and grab a good deal! 2.7t is very moddable and a great car.

I don't know about the deal, because I would say that for an extra 2-3000 you could step up to a lower mileage car and not have to worry about the big hit you will take on the value of the car once it rolls over 100k miles. I bought a 2000 A6 2.7t blk on blk with a 6 speed and 116k miles for $9000 but at least I know that even with 150k miles it is still worth at least 7-8000 in two years. You will have the maintenance issues with any higher mileage car. Just consider the risk / benefit of the car considering the mileage and "decent" price. I'd buy it only if I can get a killer deal like $10-10500 for it. Just my two cents.
