A6 2.7T torque converter fault
I got a P0741 (Torque Converter Clutch Circ.) fault on my 2000 A6. The Check Engine Light stayed on for a few days, and went off by itself. Light hasn't burned out. If a fault is corrected (eg., sticky valve frees up) can the fault signal cancel? Thanks!

Be VERY thoughtful if this problem occurs. This is how my ordeal started, and if I had it...
... to do over again, I would take a different approach.
First thing to suspect is electronics, and if you have ANY aftermarket chips/flashes (tip or ecu) you need to rule them out first. De-chip and see if that fixes it. Somehow, my GIAC ECU chip was making my transmission shift terribly.
After that, you will need to work with a VERY good dealer or independent technician who is very familiar with Audi/ZF transmission diagnosis. Many good techs won't touch these trannies b/c they are so complex and delicate.
