A6 quattro with a problem
My son has a 2000 A6 quattro wagon with the 2.8l engine. Saturday the check engine light came on and the car starting shifting badly, (there seems to be a delay shifting into 5th, and the rpm's increase for a second). I have incurred similar problems on my mercedes and it was a vaccum problem. Anyway in trying to help him I thought I would fist check the trasmission level, but have not been successful in finding how to check it.
Also the car was at the dealership the day before this happened. They replaced a cv boot and topped of the fluids and also told my son the transmission seal was leaking.
Any info regarding this problem is much appreciated.

Bad news. I took the car to the dealership and they say the problem is the tourqe converter, and they want $2300 to fix it!
How can I be sure that it is the tourqe converter, and how difficult is it to put one in?

honestly if you couldnt figure out the problem without taking it to the dealer, i HIGHLY doubt you'll be able to successfully replace the TC.
