A6 quattro towed (impounded) what to expect?
well my neice got her a6 towed tonight, parked where she shouldn't. We beleive it was just towed about 2 miles to impound, and just wondering just what does this do to the quattro system? I can't imagine they would have brought in a flat bed and even if they did it would have been in park and still drug?
I believe the rear differnetial needs fluid pressure to engage so she should be fine for such a short tow, even though it was in park and a quattro, is this right??

depend how they towed it, had a buddy with AWD and they tried to tow it by picking the front end up instead of getting a flat bed or using read dollys, needless to say they ruined his transmission, he happily paid the 150 impound fee and collected several thousand from them in return, he always would joke, that it was the cheapest transmission he ever bought (total cost 150$ from the fine)

Most professional tow companies (such as those contracted by municipalities to tow law-breakers) would be savvy enough to recognize the need to at least use rear wheel dollies.
I'd be much more concerned about damage to the bumper or lower engine oil lines, etc.
