A6Q $1000 over invoice????
Anybody care to comment on pricing for a 2001 Audi A6Q? Been shooting for $1000 over invoice but seems like $1500 over is more realistic. Hope to order mine in a week or so.

Re: A6Q $1000 over invoice????
I placed an order in July for $1000 over invoice, but at a dealer with not the greatest service record. Sometimes you get what you pay for. In my case, I took the hit of paying a bit more to ensure that I would be taken care of in the future. I did let my eventual dealer know what I was doing to drive that point home. In fact, they found the exact car that I was waiting for in 5 days as opposed to the dealer that I had my order, which was waiting about 90 days. go figure.
in either case, you won't regret this fun car.

Dealer Service Value....
means having a dealer that will go the extra mile for you if you have a warranty claim or goodwill issue that can go either way. Don't discount what this is worth in the long run (it got me a $2,000 AC system repair on my '94 MB C280 when it was 6 months out of warranty).
BTW, I agreed on ~$1,300 over on my A6 Avant (actually paid far less for reasons I can't go into but that was the agreed deal before other things were factored in...).

Makes sense in theory, but...
...it's hard to imagine that, when faced with unusual service issues or warranty claims many months or even a few years after the sale, the decision-makers at the dealer would know, remember, or bother to look up in the records how much profit was made on the original sale of the car before deciding on to what extent they're willing to "go the extra mile". There'd have to be a helluva lot of communication between a lot of people, in some cases long after the sale, for profit margin to be a factor.

if they don't remember, you should remind them...
I didn't have to because the service mgr. was a friend of a friend, but I did have a situation where I reminded the owner that I paid full sticker price on a car that was in demand because the dealership touted how good it was, so now, down the road, I expected them to prove it. You can do that, too.
