ABS Module

Well, I tried the russian ABS repair today. I was successful in repairing the power leads. but in the process of removing the 'gel' I damaged several of the thin gold wires. So now I have full time power to my ABS controller, however its throwing codes for the left front sensor, and a memory error.

Does anyone have a working or failed unit they want to get rid of?

I feel confidant that I can make this repair sucessfully, after seeing how small the parts inside the controller, I know I need finer point tip for my soldering iron, some nice sharp tweezers and some very fine wire.

I did the repair myself as well. Twice....the first time it fixed it, the second time I bridged to one of the nearby pads (on the PCB side) without noticing until after I powered it up. Now I had it soldered correctly, but the lights are still flashing. I don't have a VAG-COM so I don't know what codes are running. Did you say that is a power wire?

the pad with the two big wires coming from it, is power for the board (as I understand it). from what I have heard, its easy to blow out some of the functions of the unit by powering up the module with accidental bridgeings of solder. Do you have access to a VAGCOM to see what codes its throwing?

No, I don't have access to a VAGCOM. I have been considering a used one, and hope it holds up! I don't know what else to do. I had it powered up like that for about 10 seconds, total. But I know thats long enough to cause other damage.
