Default AC delete belt size

Good evening all,

I am building a dedicated track car from my 2000 A6 2.7 Quattro.
Amongst many things I removed my AC compressor and all pluming associated with it.

Question: What belt size I need now that I deleted the AC compressor from the accessory belt.
I would have thought that this was quite a routine mod but I can't find any concrete info on what size belt "model" I need to get.

Has anyone done it and/or can point me in the right direction.
The two belts I purchased now is to short.

Thank you and happy holidays.

Get a flexible measuring tape (you can find them made of cloth or nylon strap type). Route the tape where you want the belt to run and you will get the length of the belt you need. Take the measurement and subtract a bit to allow for tensioner deflection. Use original belt width. Go to the parts store with the numbers and there you are!

arghhh, I feared that it was the case, I took a string and made a length I need incase someone does not have a solution. I will post which one ends up working for me after I get it.

Thank you

Not that complicated tho. Just rember after you get the length measurement the measuring was done with the tensioner in the relaxed position. Belt will need to be shorter by an inch or so "probably". If you can get assistance to position the tensioner in the "loaded" position the measurement will be more accurate. Any auto parts store worth your business will exchange the belt as long as you don't damage it or get it all greasy or dirty. Didn't get your location but most auto parts stores in the US will have or be able to acquire your belt in short order. I know it is available usually at NAPA, AutoZone, O'Rielly's, etc.

Not my own experience, saved info from a very old post from many years ago: 6PK1790 is the best fit and will have no rubbing. Same source claimed that shorter 6PK1765 had rubbing issues. Correction: This is 2.8 engine info, 2.7 engine uses shorter routing, georgeb944 suggestion is likely correct.
