Default AC relay or other issue. Where and who is it?

My ac works with power straight from the battery. There is no voltage from the yellow conntection and into the car.. Any ideas where the relay and wires go from the yellow connector and in to the car? And any ideas on how to fix the problem?

Bentley manual is not always right, but here goes. The A/C clutch relay J44 is located at position 5 in the 13 fold relay panel under the driver side dash with 13 positions for relays/modules. Your picture shows the 8 fold relay panel. the 13 fold panel is above the 8 fold. In the manual picture, relays 1-6 are in the upper/shorter row and 7-13 are in the longer row, but probably not every position is filled.

I looked through the wiring diagrams and could not find J44, so no help on wire colors or connections. You can unscrew the panel and check the wire colors behind the relay and they should match with the connector to the compressor clutch.

Default I see what you mean.

But I still can't find what you say. Here are a Pic of all the other relays.

In your new picture, the panel with the 370 and 373 relays appears to be the 13 fold panel according to Bentley. Your first picture shows a panel with the 370 and 373 relays in different positions. ????

However, the Bentley manual pictures do not show 370 and 373 relays, but show others in the panel, 204, 267,38?, and 393. It looks like the A/C clutch relay is 267 in position 5.

The Bentley photos are from the paper manual for 1998-2004 A6 models.

Very possible that yours is different and also that Bentley is often wrong. That said the top row in your second picture matches the location of the 13 fold panel in the manual. And the same relay numbers are often used for more than one circuit. You might check the relays in that top panel. You can pull the relay and connect a jumper wire between the main power terminals(might be a diagram on the relay showing which terminals to jump. If the compressor clutch clicks on with the jumper, you've found the culprit.

Default Thanx man

It was the relay. I just disconnected it and put it back and now the fan works.

But I still have the problem that I don't get any cold air. Weird Any ideas?
