airbag module repair
The airbag light is on and my indy cannot turn it off. They say the module #4B0959 655H cannot be reset. They do not know anyone who repairs these when the light is on but not because of a crash. Is there a place who repairs these?

How about simpler?...
Have you checked the clock spring?--the part behind the steering wheel that connects the wheel functions (horn, airbag, etc.) to the car electrical. Not an uncommon failure point. Had it on my 2000 4.2. More broadly, run a VAG COM scan if you haven't already to identify the issue.

Check with your audi dealer. There may also be a warranty on the airbag module or audi may comp it as a safety issue they don't want to see go to NHTSA....

I'm assuming his indy already did that...but if he hasn't this should certainly be done, as an audi dealer would.

I wasn't sure
The diagnostic of not being able to clear codes sounded as much or more like a symptom than necessarily the problem. The clock spring is the one obvious part of the airbag system subject to daily wear and I would tend to eliminate mechanical wear type points before looking at bad control boxes or other electronic issues if it hasn't been fully diagnosed. Clock springs have either failed or been recalled on my last three Audi's (C4, C5, D3). Just replaced my C5 one in the past month to cure the light on which I couldn't otherwise clear with VAG COM.

Excellent point...I would have thought a clock spring open or ground would show up on vag-com.

Not sure on multiple counts
IIRC, on my 2000 some diagnostics are more limited. Same for cruise control switch, also awaiting replacement now. In Bentley from 2001 forward this part of the car (column stuff) seems to have more diagnostics. Not sure what year OP's car is either. On my clock spring specifically, the message was pretty vague with VAG COM--something like intermittent driver's air bag connection. Given it also had a dragging noise when turning the wheel that arose recently, and remembering my replacement history on these w/ Audi's, I pretty much narrowed it down to the clock spring.
Separately, reading the OP, it really doesn't say more than can't clear codes. Indies can be everything from very sophisticated to the corner Shell station that might just assume most codes are false alarms, or that all they are set up for is to try to clear them with some generic reader. OP should chime in if there was any diagnosis besides couldn't turn off the light to go by.

The code is 65535 control module sporadic.
Thus far I have not found a place that will repair this fault. A few have said they reset or whatever airbag control modules that have crash data, but are not willing to guaranty the 65535 code repair. I've been talking to Augie Ferron at Euro systems automotive training in Sudbury Ontario about the controller repair.
I will have my guy check the under seat plugs and the steering wheel spring ring.
