Default alignment

Just had Eibach springs & Bilstein shocks installed on 01 2.7T by local mechanic friend. He took it to be aligned afterwards and told me when I picked it up today that alignment shop could only do rear wheels. They did not have equipment to due front end due to "all the sensors on the car". Recommended I take it to Audi dealer to have front end done. Haven't had a chance to road test it yet but mechanic says it drives fine and may not need further alignment. Should I have front alignment only checked, re-do 4 wheel alignment, or just drive it for now if it seems to handle normally7 Anything special about Audi alignment that any competent shop couldn't handle? Thanks for your input!

Default Pretty straight forward really. Just normal camber then tracking......

If both front and back set correctly. the car will run straight.

Default No camber/caster adjustment in front, but...

there is a procedure to equalize camber left-right by moving the entire lower subframe. This scares non-Audi techs. Just keep in mind that the lower you go, the more negative the camber gets so keep the tires rotated well.

If everything was OK before lowering, there shouldn't be a need to do anything else in front except to reset the toe-in. And no special equipment needed for that.

Default Find a nice, level piece of road (or behind a long warehouse)

and drive your car in a straight line. If the car self centers without any input from you on the steering wheel then chances are great that your camber is fine and you could probably skip an alignment. You do have to watch camber, castor and toe in. Each one affects the other. Too much negative or positive camber will show up as tread wear on the edges. Poor castor setting will keep the car from self-centering. Also ck your tire psi just for GP.
