and they now have the car for the fifth time in six weeks (although I think they were just d*cking around for much of that time). The doors are coded to autolock at 10 mph. They do that, fine, and all four doors unlock as they should when you remove the key from the ignition. But, if the key is still in the ignition and you try to unlock the doors using the toggle switch on the driver's door, the doors will not unlock, UNLESS you first manually unlock the driver's door by pulling once on the interior driver's door handle (yes, I wait till I'm in "park" before doing this). After that, the switch on the driver's door will unlock the remaining three doors.
I ask you, the great Audi cognesenti, what is the problem and what is the fix?

Just one of the many pre-programmed features you can access with a VAG tool, and the service ...
advisor specifically stated that it is unrelated to the problem, as different software is involved.

I would look to some kind of signal
inteference in either the door handle interlock, or more likely the main controller unit for door locks. Either it isn't seeing the message, or it's not getting the message. Sounds like it isn't "seeing" when the car has come to halt. It gets the message when the key is removed, and of course the double pull over-ride would reset it - but it's not getting the message directly. Just a thought. Hmmmmm. Assuming dealer has done all VAGing tests.

Sounds like you've got a programming glitch...need to disconnect battery...
wait and few minutes (30 mins is good), reconnect the battery, perform throttle calibration (don't touch throttle pedal for 3 mins.,) reset radio code, reset auto lock code. This should remove the programming glitch (corrupted program code) and fix the problem.

It is a vag-com code, but it must have reset itself. When my doors are locked all the way around, pumping the door handle inside once engages the code, then the second pump unlocks the door. You need to have the recode done for your remote to avoid this problem. ( this is the combination # 4 I think).

That still happens for me. The problem is unlocking the other doors...
the only way the switch unlocks the other three doors is if the drivers door is manually unlocked.
