Default Another brake question...

It's time for me to replace my rotors and pads. I've got an 02 2.7t with 16 inches but I want to keep the 16s for winter driving. I was looking at getting slotted rotors from StopTech. I went on achtuning.com and found these - link below - I was wondering if anyone has these or ever did any research on them. Are they stock size and is this a good deal? Thanks.

htt p://shop.achtuning.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1092</a

Default that's the exact kit i had installed last year, love it - they're direct replacement

size rotors, so it's not an issue. i got the cheaper kit with axxiss deluxe pads, not as dusty as the ultimates, not sure how stopping power compares

Default My general advice would be to choose your pads carefully, as there is a HUGE variation in braking

feel and performance (dust level, cold or initial "bite", fade, noise, wear of rotors, etc.) depending on what pad you choose - even when pairing these pads with the stock rotors. I would advise you to get advice from people with actual experience with that pad on that particular vehicle (or something pretty close).

It is possible to get a pad that suits your barking "taste", but there are a lot of choices out there and my favorite might be ones that you can't stand. Even buying replacements from the dealer isn't a sure thing, as usually more than one supplier is OEM qualified and Jurid's OEM pad may not perform/feel the same as Akebono's OEM pad - even though both may carry the identical part number at your friendly dealership.
