Any special tricks for changing front brake pads on a 2.8 A6 Avant?
Wear sensor just triggered, and since the car is a few months outside the Audi Advantage/Warranty, I'm not going to take it back to the dealer to get some more hi-dust stock pads. I'm considering EBC Green Stuff pads, but I haven't closely studied the caliper arrangement yet and I'm not sure if there's any special features that make the job more difficult than it should be.
Any tips/advice or links to pad replacement procedures would be appreciated!

Post the same msg on the 100/A6 forum... we have both the pad info post, and installers. =)

There aren't many mechanics here. There are mechanics on the old beater A6 forum.
Buy the Bentley, if you work on your own car it wil pay for itself.

Bentley Manuals

Re: Is the 'glue' mentioned....
simply brake-pad grease? When changing the pads on my MB, I get a little packet of brake-pad grease with it that is spread on the back of the pads to eliminate squealing. I wonder if Audi has the same thing?

Thanks, just what I was looking for...
I didn't know if the A4 procedure would apply to the A6. I've also got the Bentley manual for the A4/S4, so that should help a little too.
Just ordered the EBC Green Stuff pads from Eddie at Tire Rack!

Wow, I didn't realize there was that much of a split...
I figured enough current generation A6's would be out of warranty that there would be more experience here. The guys on the S4 forum are ripping apart their cars and upgrading them almost before they are broken in! :-)
Anyway, DWP's answer above provided what I needed.
