Anybody having problems with the alarm system 'falsing'?
Happened twice in the last four days.
Only commonality I can think of is that I had the sunroof and a couple of windows opened slightly for interior heat dissipation. I remembered the motion detector the second time and disabled it (I think).

Leaving windows/sunroof cracked will cause this. If you disabled the motion detector, it shouldn't have happened. (It's not that easy for me to tell if it's deactivated, or not, in sun light. Left my wife in the car, locked it, and forgot to disarm. As soon as she turned her head, the alarm activated. She didn't think it was funny.

Probably the motion detector if the windows were open...
The S4 guys posted on this a couple of times in the last few days. Apparently there is a way to reduce the sensitivity if you have access to a VAG-COM tool.

I kept forgetting to press the disable button...
when leaving the car with the windows open a bit in hot weather. I have the VAG-COM tool. The internal monitor was reporting the front interior sensors being triggered. You can adjust the sensitivity by changing adaptation channel #1 of the Interior Monitor between 50 and 100 (the default is 100). I tried 75 and still got a trigger after a couple of days, except this time VAG-COM indicated a rear seat trigger. I tried 50 and did not have any problems for a week or so. Sitting in the car and locking it with the remote showed it to be far less sensitive to waving my arms around, but it would still trigger. Last time I was poking around with VAG-COM, I increased the value to 60. After another few days I have not had any "wind" triggers. For my car, 60 seems about right.
If you can't find someone with a VAG-COM (and don't want to buy one) to try different settings, I'd take it to the dealer and ask for the minimum sensitivity (50). You will still need to use the disable switch if leaving pets, wives, etc. locked in the car.
