anyone ever figured out how to use the stock amp to power another sub?

Try a search on the Audio forum. From what I know...
the stock amp doesn't have enough power to run aftermarket sub(s). I'm not an audio guy, but I think the Bose system is a 2 or 3 ohm system, where aftermarket speakers are 4 or 8 ohm.

In theory...
first off, i haven't done this so anything i say is suspect... also, if i'm just stating the obvious my apologies.
in theory though you should be able to take apart the back-right side of the trunk and rip out the existing sub, then take an ohm meter and measure the resistance of the existing woofer. probably 2ohms, but i really don't know. see if you can find an rms value for how many watts the stock amp can pump. i would guess it's around 300 watts, but again i really don't know. could just go ask the dealer, i'm sure they could get you the number. go get sub that is the same ohm rating and in the same neighborhood for rms watts (too much more and you may not get a lot of power out of it, too much less and you'll probably blow it).
