Default I have the RS4 intercoolers which are very similar.

Really not a big deal. I did take a bracket out on the drivers side but you should be able to do most of the work without moving the lock carrier. But it is certainly easier if you do that.

The intercoolers will just be hanging inside and held by the connecting tubes. Just floating. Biggest deal to me was the intercooler ducts. I cut up my original ducts like AWE recommends but that never worked out quite right. Ended up buying the RS4 intercooler ducts from 2bennett.

Just for reference a photo...but this was with the motor out a couple of years ago. I've pulled them a couple of times since to clean. Doesn't take much time at all.

Default I've read the RS4 intercoolers are a bitch to fit on a S4.

The A6 obviously has more room, so I expect fitment to be fairly easy. Got any pictures of the ducting?

Default S4 guys always whine...

There isn't that much more room and you have to flex/pull the fender out to slide it up.

Probably the biggest problem will be getting the hoses on the first time. After they've seasoned a bit they're pretty easy to get on and off. I'd suggest making sure they're warm with a heat gun or something. Just don't use silicon spay...bad ju, ju for the turbos/motor!

Default FWIW there is an installation guide on the AWE website if you haven't already seen it.

Only covers the S4, though. I agree with OCDBoy that if they fit on the S4, they should fit even more easily on the A6.

Default SMIC was translating to single mount intercooler to me. : )

I have AWE intercoolers on an allroad, but can't tell you how hard install was since AWE installed them. I don't think they cut much, they installed their shrouds which are used on the S4. The install on an A6 should be the same as the allroad I would think.
