Default The key to using ANY tire in snow is to not drive like a bonehead. Snow tires and/or chains...

are not magic. They can't alter the laws of physics. You have to learn to drive more slowly and to make less sudden movements in the snow. I don't have any problem at all getting around in good all season tires in snow. In an ideal world, I'd have dedicated snow tires for winter. But we all don't live in an ideal world.

Cheers,

Default That is so absolutely patronizing hogwash.

I assume, of course, that people on this forum have the knowledge and smarts to know how to drive in the snow. Which, by your message does not give any of us any credit. We are talking about- if given the same circumstances, what equipment would perform better than another due to its design/inherante advantange. What would gain us an edge. Given the same golf shot, would a titanium/graphite driver outdrive an old persimom wood driver kind of things.

Get off your soap box. Don't tell us how to live/drive and how great you are.

Pluuuueaze!

Default You're projecting...

I'm not trying to say how "great" I am. I am saying that all season tires or snow tires (sans chains) can be adequate for the task if you exercise some common sense when driving. Not everyone has the time/space/money/whatever to deal with having an extra set of rims and tires around the house. And not everyone needs to drive across frozen lakes all winter long.

Sheesh...

Default LOL, you are quite an idiot

So... When I see that the highway is chain required, I can tell the highway patrolman that I will drive with "common sense" and let me through?

Would it help if I say "Ritz" said so because he is a know-it-all?

Sheesh!

Default Here's what you said...

OK- In your original post, you said:

" I don't have any problem at all getting around in good all season tires in snow."

and then you said:

"I am saying that all season tires or snow tires (sans chains) can be adequate for the task if you exercise some common sense when driving."

So... like I said... go tell that to the highway patrolman when it is required that you need chains. I agree that not everyone can affort to get extra sets of wheels, but God's sake, we can all drive well and excersize common sense, you don't have to patronize us with soap box cliches.

and YES! it does make me feel better to call you names. Quite good, indeed.

Default ah...ok. How about my mom wears combat boots? You forgot that one...*chuckle*

Glad I could make you feel better. Sounds like you could use a stress reliever.
