For those who have missed the fun, Shabu Shabu is a Japanese style of cooking where you get raw veggies and meat which you then drop into a pan of boiling water. You fish them out and marinate them in sauces that you can modify with various spices. DIY cooking for people who like to control things or engineer things, but don't like cleaning up;-)
California Shabu Shabu has some of the best we've tried. Hope everyone had fun.

You Californians are so sophisticated compared to us soggy Northwesters...........
I am in the grocery industry paralleling the food-service industry and I have never heard of Shabu Shabu ;-)

sounds kind of like Mongolian BBQ
At a Mongolian BBQ you load up on meat and veggies and put the sauces on ahead of time. Then they sautee your food on a huge grill which looks like a kettle drum. Then they hand back your food to you, usually in the same bowl.
Might have to look into Shabu Shabu. Can't say the idea of boiled meat really turns me on though. I'd have to load up on the veggies.
