Audi A6 2.8 trans problem
while i am driving like 35-40 miles/h, I need to change lanes or accelerate a little bit. I do not push the pedal to hard. And it look liek it want to shift into fourth gear and still keeps me in fifth. But in whole this process I get a big jerk. If i push it harder it will shift into fourth gear with no problem and after a while shift it back into fifth. But if i push just a little bit. I get this jerk. And it concerns me. It happend after i changed my oil. Audi 1999 A6 2.8Q 75 000 miles. Does anyone knows what it may be. Meybe my trans is going to break down? :/

Re: Audi A6 2.8 trans problem
You mean you changed the transmission oil or motor oil?
When I talked to a mechanic with 20+ years experience in automatic transmissions is that if you ever replace the fluid in those trannies you will basically destroy it because the acidic level are different and will tear apart the fibres. He said its a misconception but also a contradiction because there is no such things as lifetime fluid.
He said that most of the times these trannies need adjustments (via software) to adjust the transmission to the miles on them... (software programming is based on new materials)
Good luck!

Maybe not trannie problem
My 98 A6 2.8 at about 60k miles was having a similar problem. Took it to the dealer multiple times who stated that it wasn't the trannie. Took it to an indie and it turned out to be a dirty MAF. After cleaning, it's been running perfectly, now with 105k on the clock.

Good question.
If you changed the tranny oil, recheck the level.
If it was the engine, check the level. You may have drained out all the AFT and added engine oil. Sounds silly, but I've seen it before. If you check your engine oil, and it's really high on the stick....
