Even in that case, it assumes you know the basics about the cars to begin with.

Buy one when you get your VAG-COM. You need both, and their Bentley prices are pretty good.

Definetly get the Bentley manual on CD....found mine for ~$65 from bimmerparts.com, IIRC.

from someone on here for $55 so I could have one loaded on my office laptop. Gotta have my fun at lunch, ya know! :-) You might try E-Bay too.

Much easier to find exactly what I want, IMHO. But I guess the advantage is printing the page and not having to worry about getting gook on it while I work on the car.

thanks everyone. I bought a cheap CD on e-bay. It's Mitchel on demand but I seam not to be able to make it work. The program loaded from one CD and the data are on the second CD. BUt I do not know how to install the second CD as there is no installation file. Pls. help if any of you has experience with this CD. If if suceed to install it I will tell you if this CD is worth the money. So far not..

I bought one of these on E=Bay for my Saab from a guy in Florida. Looked really neat, nice photo printed on CD's, but the only one that would work was the parts CD. Had to enter a "special" password that never worked.
