Audi C5 4.2L - Aluminum subframe?!?

Does a 2000 A6 have an aluminum subframe? I am asking this, because few days ago I bought a set of control arms from purems, and while reviewing the application again today, I realized that it fits only 4.2l with aluminum subframe. Please tell me I didn't get the wrong part...

Are you sure they weren't referring to the suspension in some way? (which is aluminum.)

I know my subframe is steel, because there are small spots of rust on it.

Well the website only lists "aluminum subframe" for 4.2, but also lists many other apps

so it looks like you should be safe. Why not check to see if parts are the same as your originals or call purems Monday if you don't need to install this weekend.
