As it happened, right after I bought my A6 I left for Florida. I only put about 800 miles on the car and then parked it in my garage on Cape Cod. It's been there since the beginning of February. A neighbor of mine has taken it out a couple of times and put 5 or 10 miles on it just to keep the tires from getting flat spots. I'm not even sure if tires still get flat spots, but that's what my father used to say back in the 60's.
Anyway, the reason I'm writing is I'm concerned about what I might need to do before putting some heavy use on the car when I get back in a couple of weeks. Do you think I should get an oil change? I'm going to drive out to Michigan in early June so the car will only have about 1500 miles on it when I head for Detroit. I'm a fairly assertive driver and don't want to screw up my car if it isn't ready for steady 80-90 mile an hour driving for an extended period of time. I remember reading something a while back on the Audi Forum about not changing oil prematurely for some reason. I really can't recall why not. Does anyone have any suggestions for putting my Audi back into service and not messing it up in the process? Hope you're all enjoying your Audis. I really miss mine!

Don't worry about it. It will be just fine. Don't change the oil until the 5K service...
