I was under the hood today checking all the fluids and I realized that I can't find the automatic transmission fluid dipstick! I don't mean to sound stupid for asking where it is, but this is my first Audi and I've only had it for a couple of weeks. Any help would be appreciated!

Lifetime means Audi won't have to service it in 40,000 miles I think. Bimmerparts.com wants $25 for the filter your transmission uses.

You should probably change the filter some day. I can't understand why there is a market for the prepetual filter along with the eternal fluid inside the lifetime transmission.

I have never heard of transmission fluid lasting forever. I know GM's Dextron 3 is good for 160,000km. Damn, I was looking all over the place for the tranny dipstick. I'll eventually get it drained an refilled. Wouldn't it be possible to do all of that myself? Where's the transmission fluid cap anyways?
