Default Bike Rack? Retired it !! Two full size bikes inside FTW :-)

Springtime. Time to put the bikes on the bike rack to take them somewhere interesting for a ride. But wait, I gots me an Avant now. Those bad boys should fit inside without taking off wheels and/or pedals, surely (don't call me shirley).

Surprisingly as quick and easy as I'd hoped. I'd have done something to secure them better if we were driving more than 15 minutes.

Our bikes.

There's one in. Took all of 10 seconds.

Pulled it through a bit from the front wheel to get all the way.

Put these cardboard circles (that came with my new wheels) between for a bit of intrabike protection.

Bike #2 on. Could have fit a couple of kid-sized bikes in there too (but we would have had to go steal some first as we don't have any (a) kids, (b) kid-sized bikes).

Avants, gotta love 'em :-)

I *love* that I can fit mine in the sedan - thank goodness for that fold-down seat!

Default Watch out for the dirt and MUD after your bike ride. - - -> > >

..that is why I am still ISO a cross bar that'll fit our OEM roof rail so I can put the bikes using a bike rack instead of getting my interior full of mud.

Happy trails!

Default Trade in 2 incomes, no kids and no debts for an alternate lifestyle ? Hmmm, let me ponder that one

We're lucky that we both don't want kids. We love taking our nieces and nephews for days out.
Great fun, but nice handing 'em back afterwards and going home and just flaking out after a tiring day

I have a couple of black blankets to lay out for the return trip and to hide bikes from prying eyes

Default Great! I took my bike with me when car shopping - would not consider

cars where the bike wouldn't fit inside with only the front wheel off. We all have priorities, right?
