well my father bought me an '01 audi a6 for my birthday back in october. the car was amazine expecially since the car was for my 17th bday. i had no cd's on me so i couldn't check out the cd player. im a teenager and we need our music lol. so i got home and realized it's broken, im still using a tape connected to a cd player and its a pain. i wanted a double din touch screen but times are getting rough now and i'd rather put rims on. so anyways, i was looking on ebay and i found a head unit that came off of a 2000 s4 it says it can be used for an a6 but i want to make sure first. please someone help me asap. thank you

As long as it is the Symphony (double DIN), you should be fine, but if you get a Symphony II (built-in 6CD changer from 2002ish onwards) I believe you will have to do a bit of tweaking as it has some different connectors(?)---search forums to read up on differences between Symphony I and II. Do make sure to get the code for the new radio.

Check with Audi first. They were selling new units for $75.

IIRC, the face plate is different too.
