Can an RS6 steering wheel with paddle shifters be installed in a 4.2? How much would that cost?

I've read $1,800 for all the individual parts!

Default Sure would be nice to know the answer to this one. I don't....

even care of the paddle shifters work. I just want a better steering wheel!

And you'd still have a POS TIP....

Default Maybe the RS6 steering wheel will transform the POS TIP into the RS6 TIP :)...

have you recoded your S6 tip to 0032 yet?
Made a big difference in my S4.

Default What's 0032? Gadzeek, I'm a junior user! To hold first gear? Does it do anything else?

The S6 holds first gear to redline <buzz lightyear>and beyond!</buzz lightyear> in both TIP and in Auto. I don't find 7,000 rpm in 1st gear to be all that pleasant an experience...first gear frequently = a cranked over steering wheel too, so I'm happy to shift earlier than redline. I'm not much into the stoplight challenges (I know my cars limitations!) and anyway, if I hit the TIP shift at about 4K rpm, it'll shift just about at 7K. That's what I mean by POS. Does the 0032 cause quicker shifts?

Default If memory serves correctly...

I believe it gives older tips the same shifting characterstics as the S position does in the S6.

I drove my S6 most of the time in S, not D. Only in driving around neighborhoods did I leave it in D.

Default I find that the "S" mode also works well in heavy traffic...you're not loafing at

1,100 rpm in 5th gear at 30mph, causing constant riding of the brakes...

I rode in the rear seat of the S6 tonight...how odd...how stressful!

Isn't it odd being a passenger in your own car?

Default First thing that I did...

...when shopping for a "nice" car last year was climb in the back seat. Jaguars (J and S series) were so bad that I didn't test drive them. BMW (540i) was more pleasant than Mercedes (E430), and Audi was deceptively (especially looking at it from the outside) roomy and very comfortable.

I enjoy being a passenger in my own car. One could get used to it, and then there's the A8...
Okay, sorry, back to tiptronic shifting-- I think that you should buy a used RS6 next year.
