Car Warrentees

Car Warrentees
I purchased my 00 2.7 around 3 months ago from a broker with whom I've worked with for several purchases. She has always done right by me and she didn't dissapoint this time either. But (isn't there always a but?) I wanted to get an aftermarket warrentee as this car had exceeded it's 4 year Audi warrentee. Well she dropped the ball and now she can't get it for me. She quoted me a price of $2,200.00 for 3years/36kmi. So after she calls and says she can't do it I start a search for a new warrentee and I'm getting quotes of 5k for the same thing! Do any of you have an affordable aftermarket warrentee that you could recommend?

Re: Car Warrentees
I just started to look into these yesterday. I am still under the 4yr/50K warrenty and I was looking at Warrenty Direct and AAA. WIth a $100 deductable and coverage to 100K Miles the prices were $2,675 WD and $2890 AAA.
If anyone has recommentations it would be greatly appreciated.

The 2000 had only 3 years, so it's been out of warranty for a while...
It gets harder and harder to find anything after that point. I have a good aftermarket warranty on my 2000 2.7t, but I purchased it about a year ago. I just checked at warrantybynet.com (the people who sold me the warranty), and it doesn't look like they'll provide a policy to cover a 2000 anymore. Best of luck, though!

I live in Cali and it's not legal to buy an extended warranty through anyone other than a dealer here. The state wants to make sure the support is underwritten by an insurance agency for consumer protection. You can buy Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) which is pretty much the same thing as a warranty. It's sold through insurance agencies -I got mine through Mercury Insurance. $1530 for 3 years/36,000 miles with a $100 deductible. Allstate, Geico and alot of Credit unions offer it too. You could look into that...many of the plans are mileage conscious though. When I bought my used A6 it had only 26,000 miles.
