Default central locking module programing

My local dealer has no problems programing the central locking module to execute some of those neat, hidden features next service (ie: windows on the remote). But he said they will also need all my remote keys to do the job. Why would they need the keys? I thought the changes were made to the central locking module, only.

They don't need the keys, they just enable the feature in the car itself.

I've been told (more than once) they'd need the keys. Give 'em to them - better safe than sorry!!!

Had mine done last month. They only had one key, and all work fine.

Won't they need a key to start/move/drive the car anyway?

They don't - but what's the harm? They're being nice, so humor them...

I actually don't care whether I have to give them all the remote keys or not. I was just under the the belief that the features are enabled in the central locking module, and that the remotes themselves have nothing to do with the adjustment.
Yes, but you are better off safe than sorry.

I've done this myself and they only need one key.

Correct, they don't need the keys... Get a VagCom tool and do your own and then some...
