Changed of heart........A6 to G35!!!!!!

I took a look at one the other day....
The price is right. You get a lot for $30k. The interior is not 1/2 notch down. Some would say BMW and Merc are 1/2 notch down, the Nissan interior is below that. It is a lot of car for $30k, but it is not an Audi, and when a 3.0 Quattro sits next to you at the traffic lights in the rain.......

I hope the pic posting success is not an omen for the new car . . .
It sounds as if you had pretty much made up your mind before posting about the G35. You should be happy with it as long as you do not continue to compare it to a quattro A6 or anything quattro for that matter. Its a rwd car and I'm guessing that your climate does not require quattro for year 'round sport driving.
You need to be careful going from a fwd or quattro wheel drive car to a rwd car. Obviously if you don't "get up on that thang" you have no worries. The electronics will save you most but not all of the time.
Also the interior is not as durable as it may appear. You will need to take car of both the leather (if equipped) and especially the silver trim. The silver trim will wear off in as little as two years if you let oils and dirt from your hands build up on the surface.
I personally like the G35. However if you are thinking it is a lateral swap for any A6 you will ultimately be disappointed. The interior is very, very different from even a cloth A4 since the interior panels are where the detail exists.
The G35 has a different feel than the A4 or the A6. It is different from any teutonic type car. It would be the same if you were comparing an Italian make to the G35. They will be very different vehicles on the road and in general feel. Its not a "bad" feel necessarily but it all depends on your tastes.
You decided on a car with good value. The A6 is also a very good car value in its class. If you are looking for A6 owners to validate the purchase(not that you are but who knows) I don't think that is going to happen. The cars are just too different and appeal to the respective buyer from completely different perspectives.
Good luck and keep the board updated on your experience from time to time. The good, the bad, and as some would opine the ugly.

Enjoy your new ride (but change your sig)
I think you'll enjoy the Infiniti owner experience. I just traded my QX4 for an S6 but I loved the way Infiniti treated me during my lease with them. I considered the G35 but didn't care for the interior
Have fun!
