Default Climate control button question

Just traded in my 2000 A4 2.8Q a couple weeks back for a 2002 A6 2.7T. I love the car, but awfully strange that there is no "off" button for the climate control. I guess since you have to press the "-" button until it goes off, it has been overused. Both the "-" and "+" buttons that control the fan speed on the climate control are basically worn out, so that they look pretty bad. They work fine, I'm just **** and don't like looking at it. I've called around and nobody sells the buttons themselves, I'd have to buy an entirely new climate control unit, which looks like it is around $250 used. Obviously, I'm not that **** to pay that much just to get the two buttons. Anyone have any suggestions for how to replace those buttons at a more reasonable price?

And, I know, I need to work on a new sig.

Default That's who quoted me $250

I live pretty near Dad's Auto recycling and they wouldn't part with just the buttons either.

Default Hyjack...dparnas, I use to read your posts on "Supercharged Audi" and was wondering...

If you removed the SC before you traded, and if so, what did you get for it? How do you like the C5 2.7t as compared to the B5 2.8SC?

Default walk the salvage yards..

just pop the button off...
You can also coat over the button with nail polish. Being they are scrap and you may replace them anyway you have nothing to loose.
find a matte color that is close and give it a go.

Haven't had a lot of time yet to "air out" the A6 yet, but so far I'm really enjoying and studying up on chipping options before I jump back into the modding world. I'm actually waiting for the Supercharger to be removed from my A4 and then it'll be going up for sale. Probably next week. Anyone interested, feel free to e-mail me at dparnas@yahoo.com. Right now, I'm thinking $2,500, which would include an ecu and chip.
