A confused A8L...........

Yesterday I pulled up to a stop light waiting to get onto the highway. Next to me was a new A8L with new car tags and after market wheels. He looked over at my car and started revving his engine (believe it or not). I just couldn't resist, I had to go for it. He looked so disappointed when he couldn't outrun "older" technology. He sure didn't understand that while he had marginally more power, he was also carrying more weight.
I'm sure that this was one of those guys that went straight back to the dealer to trade his new A8 for and RS6 so that people in a less costly version of the same brand can't keep up with him. How pathetic...........

Re: Don't forget that an engine will not develop max power until after proper brake-in.

I won't matter, the A8's 0-60 time, broken in or not, is no faster than the A6 4.2. Besides, what kind of moron would do that to a new car that hasn't broken in the engine?

I think you may be reading a whole lot from nothing...
I think suggesting this guy is "pathetic"...or his potential future actions are "pathetic" is a bit of a reach from a 'disappointed' look.
Besides, an A8L should easily beat a 4.2...so perhaps he wasn't trying...or he was old and feeble and couldn't reach the floor with the pedal

Some people enjoy the challenge - no matter the odds.
I'd race anything that would give me the time of day - in my Toyota pickup with canopy ;-) Almost never win - which wasn't the point anyway - just the competition.

Other than 'beating' him in a lame street race, why would you think...
a fat 4.2 with a weaker version of the same engine would be faster than an A8???
What's pathetic is lame-asses who post about weak street wins and insult the other guy by fantasizing about his "pathetic" insecurities. Very pathetic.
