Couple of problems hope you can help.
1st when my car is stood at a light I have huge problems with the heater it keeps blowing cold air. Where it the thermostate located.
2nd. Anyone know where I might beable to buy a replacement glass for my drivers side door mirror. Water got in to the glass and has ruined the mirror. Its lost tint and has a constant water bubble in it.
3rd. Anyone know how to take my drivers seat apart the lumber support no longer raises up. Only back and forth.
4th when I use super or cheap *** gas my check engine light comes on. It reports that it failed to sense airflow. I think it maybe a the mass airflow but not 100% sure.
Its an A6 Advent 1999.
I have API warranty on it but not sure if its worth the paper its written on since I was given it by the dealership for having to wait 30days for my front driveshafts to be replaced and fitted.

A few answers
1. Sounds like the heater core valve may not be working the way it should. It could also be the thermostat for the interior of the car, but since the car has several, I would look to the valve first.
2. Paul knows or has connections.
3. The older A8 sometimes had the same problem. Search the A8 forum for the detailed fix. It is well documented.
4. Don't use super cheap gas. You may have a MAF failure, but you could also have any number of other issues from not having sufficient octane to prevent knock even when the car automatically retards the timing. It could also be contributing to fouling of the cat/contaminating the O2 sensor in several ways. Double check that you tighen the gas cap on until it clicks. The system is pressurized and if it detects a leak, it sets of the CEL.
