Current A6/S6 lease rates
I got some quotes from local dealer here in sunny PHX. Would appreciate comments/advice from those in the know. Thanks.
In both cases, I would only put down the required fees, i.e. no capitalised cost reduction. For my purposes, I am leaning towards the A6 Avant as I consider it better value (I already have the 2.7T for performance).
Any better leases out there (not through Audi finance)?
2002 A6 Avant Capitalised cost $41,645
Term 36 months
Residual 54%
12,000 miles per year
Fees $2300 (includes first payment, I think)
Money Factor 0.00195 (I think...can't remember now).
Approx. APR 2.9% (did remember this, and I thought, GREAT! But this does not give a money factor of 0.00195)
Monthly payment $655 + tax
and for 39 months, monthly payment drops to $635 +tax
I'm comparing this to my 2001 A6 2.7T (cap cost $46,000 and monthly payment about $683 + tax, term 39 months, can't remember APR and money factor).
For 2002 S6 Cap cost $ $60,000
Term 36 months
Residual 56%
12,000 miles per year
Fees $3,499 (inc. first payment)
Money factor 0.00305
Approx APR 7.32%
Monthly payment $996 + tax

Re: Current A6/S6 lease rates
Audi Financial is very aggressive right now on A6 leases so I doubt anyone has a better finance rate. It's hard for me to speak as to your inception fees as I'm in CT and the taxes and lease structure may be different. I should put my being in CT as a caveat re: finance rates as they are regional as well. That being said: a money factor of .00195 is equal to about 4.7%, 2.9% would be abouta money factor of .00120 which is about what is available up here right now.
You can't really compare 2 leases on 2 different cars bought at 2 different times. A lease is a result of these factors: MSRP, Cap Cost (selling price), rent charge (finance/money factor), term and residuals.
Hope that helps!

DryHeat: few thoughts!
Hey there....... I have a 02 A6 2.7T 6 speed... I don't know why, but the payment just seems high, my lease is for 48 month 12k a year, for a 46,855
MSRP car, I put down 1500, and paying 553/month for 39 month it would be 580.... so your quote seems a bit high.... my suggestions is that if you are not in the rush, perhaps you can wait for a little bit, because I know late may/early june, Audi usually have a lease special on their vehicles.... good luck...... keep us posted!!!!

Re: Current A6/S6 lease rates
Midwest A6 lease rates are currently running great on the A6 2.7 and 3.0... money factor is 0.0005 which is like 1.2% on a 36 month lease. Our regional residual is right at 52%... the A6 4.2 is 0.0016 and 52%. I am looking at a fully loaded 2.7t 6 sp (MSRP $ 47,900) with a cap reduction of 2,200 no money down except first months payment and the incidentals and leasing 36 months @ 22,000 MILES/YR... still haggling the final numbers but it should come in at around 680/mo plus taxes

Thanks Matt. I agree the A6 Avant money factor should be 0.00120. But ...
somehow the monthly payments here just seem high. Unfortunately, they did not give me the print out with all the details. My general feeling, after reading about other forum members' experience, is that the figures are being "loaded" somehow.
I have heard that there are on-line banking companies who buy the car for you and you lease from them at very competitive prices. They might even refinance your lease. I will investigate and report later.

Re: Current A6/S6 lease rates
FYI: Picked up my 2002 A6 2.7T Tiptronic two weeks ago (April 29th), with Premium, Preferred, Convenience, & Sports packages, plus heated seats & Bose. I think MSRP was just shy of $47k. I put $1000 down, which included 1st, tax, tag and title fees. Cap Cost was $44,800. Residual is 48% after 48 months/48k miles. Payment is $528 + plus tax. Money factor was .00085, which = roughly 2%. I probably could have done a little bit better on the Cap Cost, but I'm still pretty happy. I'm in Atlanta and got the car from Jim Ellis in Marietta. Ask for Sasha Landy, he's a really nice guy (no BS, no "what will it take to put you in this car today" stuff, etc...)

Re: 0.0005?!! WOW!! Can I lease from your state? Which state? or will..
According to several wisconsin dealers this is clearly regional on the A6 3.0 and 2.7t sedans only... the MF was 0.0010 last month... so it dropped a full 50% and the res value remained... good luck... i hope to be back in the audi fold (after a 3 year hiatus) in a week or two if a car to my specs can be found

What I would recommend doing is cross-shopping the lease if you feel you aren't getting his best transaction. Call 3 dealers, tell them EXACTLY what equipment car you are looking for (compare MSRP's to make sure) based on x mileage and x term with x total inception and see what they have to say.
