Doesn't seem very prudent. They already have their hands full with MB and Smart, and...

I don't believe they're so cash rich right now that they have no better uses for the money.

924 was designed for Audi ...

when Audi did not have the budget to get the car off the ground Porsche built the car for themselves.

Me thinks the Porsche+Audi thing in the US was a Parts distribution deal

There were other collaberations as noted with the 924 and maybe the 914.

Porsche Design does lots of work for other companies such as Harley Davidson on the V-Rod engine.
