Default Damn Motor Trend...

These ***-clowns did it again. This time they compare the 2.7T against a bunch of cars that are smaller than it is and not direct competitors. Plus, they test the sport package with the 16 inch wheels, not the 17s and then complain that the tires suck. They did the same thing with the 4.2 last year testing the non-sport with the crappy 16s and then bitched about how flabby the tires and suspension were.
The 2.7T should not be put up against:
Acura TL-Type S--Ok, similar size and power, I'll give 'em that one.
BMW 330i: should have been the 530
Volvo S60: should have been the S80
Saab 9-3 Viggen: should have been the 9-5 Viggen
MB C320: should have been the E320

or:
they could have put the S4 or even A4 up against these guys. Or better yet, wait for the new A4 and use that.

Mismatching comparison tests does little to help people get a true sense of differences in competitors. I keep complaining about them but I also keep buying their damn magazine. Just started getting my 5th subscription.
Hey, why doesn't Audi have a mag like BMW, VW, Land Rover, etc???

Default Audi magazine. Was: Damn Motor Trend...

There is an Audi Magazine - my dad brought me a copy on his last visit. It's called - 'Audi Magazine'. Very original.
I would speak to your dealer about this - but here is the address if you want to contact them directly. No phone or URL is given:
AUDI Magazine
P.O. Box 100457
Ingolstadt, Germany
e-mail is audi-magazin@audi.de
(Spelling of magazin is correct)
Agree with you on Motor Trend. They took about 2 lines to state that the 2.7t really was in a different category and was the best from that perspective. But in general, it was probably the only way to keep the BMW the winner, which they like to do.

Default Audi do have mags (in Europe at least)

There's an independent publication called Audi Driver which is sometimes found in motorway service area shops in the UK, and Audi also have an official Audi magazine which new Audi buyers tend to get as a one-off and you get a "survey" with each one that you fill in and freepost back to Audi to get your next quarterly fix. I'll take a look at mine and see if there's any kind of subscription address, but I'm not sure if they'd ship it to outside the UK anyway.

If you don't have an official magazine, pressure AoA into getting you one! They don't even have to write one themselves, I'm sure you guys would settle for a UK magazine once a quarter to read wouldn't you?

Some of the British Mags are worth checking out. Much more outspoken.

Default Why do you keep giving them your money?

I am constantly appalled at this waste of trees.

Instead, get Automobile mag, mebbe Car & Driver even though they are losing it, and definitely read Top Gear and CAR (Brit mags). Also try Autoweek.

Disagree about the S60. Drove one last week, very much the same class as A6.

Default The A6 2.7T should trounce the competition given that lineup to compare from...

The only car in that comparison that does anything better than the Audi is the 330i which is a better handler, and more nimble than an A6 with the sports package..

The only thing the C320 would have going for it is its snob appeal, and maybe some gimmicky features over the Audi... I would think comparing an Audi with lesser cars would enhance their image if anything..

Default if the S60 is A6 class, what is the S80?

Fit and finish the S60 may be A6 class, but the S80 is the same size and style car as the A6, not the S80.
