Dealer just told me that he received order info for the RS 6.
He asked me to come in and look at the color samples and decide on what options, etc. He also said that the nav system has the big display, ie, navplus! I won't be able to go in till next week but I will keep you informed.

the word is:
That the seats are part of the overall safety package in the US. If they were to replace the seats, they'd have to re-crash-test the car and that costs a lof of money for such a short run car.
So they reused the seats and most of the body from the A6 4.2 (sport) and they get a free pass to not have to retest.
Although this is not confirmed correct it sure seems plausible.

AoA should bring in a RS6 for a sprint event, let us all drive the bloody car, then crash test it.
Even EVO mag (October 2002) says that it can't break 5.0 sec for a 0 to 60 test (given Audi claims of 4.7 sec for 0 to 62), and requires the high 11 sec to hit a ton, whatever that means. AoA needs to prove EVO mag and Kabel1 video wrong.
I want those Recaro seats, just improve the slippery leather. I wonder if the usual A6 sports seats can provide the necessary grip for the RS6's added power.
