Chip report...
When I first got the chip (the "soldered on" version), I loved it - there was definitely a noticable increase in performance. (As you would expect from a 50+ HP increase). Aside from stoplight tricks, you could also feel the extra torque on the highway in 6th gear. No need to downshift to make that 70-90 pass!
As time went on, I thought I noticed less power. Then, I got the EMCS version of the chip (the one that lets you switch between stock and "chipped" from inside the car...). That explained it. I had gotten used to the increased power! Now, I drive most of the time in "stock" mode (save those turbos!). When I have the time and space to "play", I'll switch back to chipped mode. What a difference!
The exhaust helps too, especially over 4000 RPMs.
In chipped mode, you can drive it every day and never feel that the car has changed, until you step on it - then it just goes. No rough idle, screaming noises, starting issues, etc.
I would say it's the best "bang for the buck" upgrade, if you can live with potential warranty issues.

Could you tell me what wheels and tires do you have on the car pictured. They look great.
I am ordering an A6 2.7T 6 speed silver with dark gray. I hope to get to the dealer on Friday.
