Post soemthing similar on Audiforums. I have the cats out as I am repairing flex tubes and noticed a drain and fill port at the back end of the transmion right above the cats .. is there any fluid i should be changing while i amin there ?

That's the center diff. Go ahead and change the fluid if it hasn't been done. IIRC it only holds about 1 quart of diff fluid.

Thanks for the info . I have established the back end of that is soaked and dripping. I have a leaking seal so did a bit of research last night and discoovered i need a seal . i also researched and found out the dealer will want me to buy a new shaft assemebly and seal .. screw that so I am going to do some research and get just the seal .. some discusion as to the size but i am gonna yank her out . i will update as I go

just ordered seal after getting mine out 42 by 50 by 7 double lip Viton seal .. 35.00 dealer 12.00 at motion Canada. Total rip off on the gear oil too but sprung for that at 40.00 for a botle .

now i just have to repair the exhaust. hangers rusted off centre of exhaust tearing the flexpipe which started this whole mess.

$40 a bottle!!! Wow. Specs call for a GL-4 fluid. I went for this one: http://www.amsoil.com/catalog.aspx?code=MTGQT-EA and is much cheaper.

i should have done trhe same, especially with 350,000km on the clock .. not gonna get much worse now ..
