My driverside door does not open from the outside. The inside handle works fine but i can not get it to open from the outside. I took the door apart and took the latching assembly out and that all works fine but when i put it all back together i can not get it too work. I did notice that the brass clip which goes on the outer door handle hing was missing so i but a bolt through it but i still can not get it too work. Anyone else ran into this problem and fixed it?

well not to state the obvious but you have a failure of the mechanical linkage some where .. have you considered taking the passenger side off to gain an understanding of how it is suppose to work ?

I have not, Ill pull it apart this weekend. I do know that the assembly does work when it is off of the car its almost like the linkage between the door handle and the assembly itself isnt long enough. Like there is not enough "pull" there.
