drivers door light and under feet wont go out
Hi,
I have a 2000 audi Quattro a6.And when I turn on the ignition a chime will go off and my drivers door light and under my feet a light will come on.After about 56 chimes the chime will stop but the lights stay on and also if I turn my headlights on it will give one continuous chime that lasts about a minute.Even when I'm driving the drivers light and feet light will still continue to stay on.Then I can go on a spell for several days and things work normal and then suddenly the problem happens again
if u can email me at donshontz@iwon.com

the entire door actuator assembly will need to be replaced , unless you are handy.
you can always cut the switch, then the light wont come on when the door is open or tell you when you have taken the keys out and left the lights on ... carry jumper cables..

Yup
...done one side twice already..... and the other side once...
Advice... Don't bother getting a used one... else you may be replacing it a second time like me in the near future...
Look on eBay. You can get new ones (from China, still genuine Audi - I would like to believe ;-) ) for around $75.
Looks like they got cheaper since i bought!

The job is not easy to do yourself, but do-able. If you have a Bentley you will be all set.

just a note on the ebay one I bought . it did not have the security system switch in it so the alarm will not set anymore. Other than that its fine. Who is gonna steel a 400,000km rusting Audi anyway .. thing was a PITA as it kept going off..
